Cannabis never should have been made illegal in the first place. The government has no legitimacy in prohibiting a plant that has such a long and beneficial relationship with humans. Cannabis is medicine, health food, strong fiber, and the oldest religious sacrament.
We seek to overturn cannabis prohibition on human rights and civil rights grounds and by recognition that cannabis is a common and ancient religious sacrament. We are not seeking an exemption from prohibition for a specific religious sect. We seek to overturn cannabis prohibition in total. Governments are right to regulate commercial markets, but the cannabis plant should again be free to grow wild along the roadside, just as it has throughout history, with no restrictions on an adult's consumption of the plant.
